Follow-up guidance
Read the one you need today.
- Keep the dressing dry. Use a shower shield and pat the edges dry afterwards.
- Do not remove the dressing early. Your clinic changes it at day seven.
- Expect mild pinkness and slight itch. That is normal healing.
- Raise the area on a pillow for 20 minutes, two or three times a day, to limit swelling.

Ring the clinic the same day if
- Fever above 38°C with increasing pain.
- Redness spreading away from the wound.
- Bleeding that soaks through the dressing twice.
- Sudden swelling of the calf on one side.
Before your next appointment
- 1Bring a list of your top three questions.
- 2Note any day your pain rose above 6 out of 10.
- 3Write down what you could not do that you expected to.
- 4Bring your medication box or a photo of the label.
